Description:  Extremely rare snapshot signed in the forties.  Asther (1897-1981) was one of several Swedish film stars, the greatest of whom was Greta Garbo, who attained international fame in the silent era.  He played the male lead to Garbo in Wild Orchids (1929) and The Single Standard (1929) and gave a memorable performance in Frank Capra's The Bitter Tea of General Yen (1933).  Other films include Our Dancing Daughters (1928), the Universal horror film Night Monster (1942), and Bluebeard (1944).  (Vintage original photograph; true vintage autograph)
