Subject:  Eloise Hardt

Size:  8x10

Description:  Exceptionally scarce inscribed and signed portrait from 1960.  Hardt (1917-2017) was part of a nexus of mysterious Hollywood people and events.  She was married to military intelligence officer and psychological warfare expert Hans Habe.  Their seventeen-year-old daughter, Marina, was kidnapped and killed in late December of 1968 with her body found off Mulholland Drive; the crime remains unsolved.  Hardt was one of the leads of the strange 1966 horror film Incubus, two other stars of which met tragic ends around the time of its release.  Incubus was directed by the enigmatic Leslie Stevens IV, son of Vice Admiral Leslie Stevens, who was allegedly a guiding force behind the U.S. Navy's rumored secret space program.  As the creator of the science fiction TV series Outer Limits, Stevens IV supposedly used some of what he learned from his father.  The Outer Limits was a direct influence on Star Trek, created by Gene Roddenberry, who often observed the filming of Outer Limits episodes.  Star Trek, of course, starred William Shatner, star of Incubus.  (Vintage original photograph; true vintage autograph)
