Description:  Extremely scarce fifties portrait signed by the actor-director.  Acting credits include The Night Holds Terror (1955), Crime in the Streets (1956), Edge of the City (1957) , Rosemary's Baby (1968), and the TV series Johnny Staccato (1959-1960).  As a highly influential independent director, his films include Shadows (1959), Faces (1968), A Woman Under the Influence (1974), and Love Streams (1984).  Cassavetes died young at fifty-nine in 1989.  (Vintage original photograph; true vintage autograph)
