Description:  Doubleweight forties portrait inscribed and signed by the movie, stage, and TV legend.  A rare early autograph, as most of her available ones are from much later years.  Lansbury (1925-2022) made an auspicious debut in the 1944 suspense classic Gaslight, and had a long and brilliant career with roles in the horror classic The Picture of Dorian Gray (1945), The Dark at the Top of the Stairs (1960), the stunning and revealing political thriller The Manchurian Candidate (1962), Disney's Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971), and the late-seventies Broadway smash Sweeney Todd, among other stage and screen triumphs.  She became one of TV's most beloved stars with her long-running detective series, Murder, She Wrote (1984-1996).  (Vintage original photograph; true vintage autograph)
