Description:  Exceptionally scarce typewritten announcement from the American Society of Cinematographers regarding the passing of fellow cinematographer Rudolf Bergquist, with a request for an assessment fee.  Signed, dated, and notated by the great cinematographer-photographer (1886-1981).  Struss deservedly won the first Best Cinematography Oscar for his stunning camerawork on F. W. Murnau's silent masterpiece, Sunrise (1927).  He also did brilliant work for Charlie Chaplin's The Great Dictator (1940) and Limelight (1952), as well as the horror classics Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931), The Island of Lost Souls (1932), and The Fly (1958).  (Vintage item dated March 3rd, 1928)

Condition:  Fine Minus with unevenness at the upper edge, a few mailing or storage folds, and minor edge creases
