Description:  Rare inscribed and signed doubleweight portrait from the early thirties.  Menjou (1890-1963), a major star of the silent era to the thirties, gave memorable performances in Charlie Chaplin's A Woman of Paris (1923), Ernst Lubitsch's The Marriage Circle (1924), Josef von Sternberg's Morocco (1930), the pre-Code classic The Front Page (1931), A Star is Born (1937), Stage Door (1937), and Stanley Kubrick's Paths of Glory (1957).  The famously dapper actor's 1948 autobiography was titled It Took Nine Tailors.  (Vintage original photograph; true vintage autograph)
