Description:  Rare MGM portrait circa 1943, inscribed and signed by the suave French stage and screen actor (1911-2001).  Aumont achieved fame in his native country as the lead in Jean Cocteau's 1934 play, The Infernal Machine.  He went to Hollywood during World War II and starred in a number of films including The Cross of Lorraine (1943), Heartbeat (1946), and the classic MGM musical, Lili (1953).  (Vintage original photograph; true vintage autograph)
