Description: Extremely scarce doubleweight portrait circa 1930, inscribed and signed by the early sound-era actor and singer (1903-1974). Smith was one of the leads in the 1930 comedy Soup to Nuts, the first film in which the Three Stooges appeared. He had starring roles in several historical musicals and comedies, the most noteworthy being Honey (1930), King of Jazz (1930), and Good News (1930).
