Description:  Extremely scarce doubleweight portrait circa 1940, signed by the actor famous for appearing in the popular Dead End Kids films beginning with the classic crime drama Dead End (1937).  Career highlights include lead roles in They Made Me a Criminal (1938), Crime School (1938), Angels with Dirty Faces (1938), Hell's Kitchen (1939), and Blues in the Night (1941).  Halop was only fifty-six when he died of a heart attack in 1976.  (Vintage original photograph; true vintage autograph)
