Description:  Scarce and gorgeous doubleweight portrait circa 1928, inscribed and signed by the silent and early sound actress (1895-1975).  Photograph by Russell Ball (signed on the lower right and backstamped).  One of the great twenties beauties, Brent gave acclaimed performances for director Josef von Sternberg in Underworld (1927), The Last Command (1928), and the lost crime drama The Drag Net (1928).  Other films include Interference (1928), Paul Fejos' Broadway (1929), The Silver Horde (1930), and the famous Val Lewton-produced thriller The Seventh Victim (1943), in which she had a memorable character part.  Rare in vintage signed photos.  (Vintage original photograph; true vintage autograph)
