Description:  Scarce British publicity portrait from the forties, inscribed and signed by his wife Pamela and the great actor (1909-1984).  Mason's long and distinguished career included starring roles in such outstanding films as the 1942 horror classic The Night Has Eyes, The Seventh Veil (1945), Carol Reed's Odd Man Out (1947), Max Ophüls' The Reckless Moment (1949), Pandora and the Flying Dutchman (1951), The Desert Fox (1951), Joseph L. Mankiewicz's Five Fingers (1952), 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954), George Cukor's A Star is Born (1954), Nicholas Ray's Bigger Than Life (1956), Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest (1959), Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959), Stanley Kubrick's Lolita (1962), and Sidney Lumet's The Deadly Affair (1966).  Not in ideal condition, but a very rare early signature.  (Vintage original photograph; true vintage autographs)
