Subject:  Joe Strauch, Jr.

Description:  Autograph letter with great content, signed ("Tadpole") to a young fan on both sides of one sheet of stationery.  Strauch achieved fame playing the Tadpole Millhouse character in a few Gene Autry Westerns of the forties.  Films include Under Fiesta Stars (1941), This Time for Keeps (1942), Home in Wyomin' (1942), Call of the Canyon (1942), and Beneath Western Skies (1944); he also appeared in the Our Gang shorts Two Too Young (1936), and Fightin' Fools (1941).  One of the rarest child actor autographs, nearly nonexistent in signed material owing to the brevity of his career and his early death at fifty-six in 1986.  (Vintage item dated Sept 5, '44)
