Description: Scarce doubleweight portrait circa early twenties, signed by the stage legend on the reverse. Photograph by the Lewis-Smith studio of Chicago (embossed). A radiant dancer-singer-actress, Miller enchanted audiences with her performances in lavish Florenz Ziegfeld productions. She starred in only three films, Sally (1929) and Sunny (1930), both adaptations of her smash-hit Broadway musicals, and the pre-Code musical comedy Her Majesty, Love (1931). Her death from illness occurred in 1936, when she was only thirty-seven. (Vintage original photograph; true vintage autograph)
