Description:  An extremely rare lightly-tinted doubleweight portrait inscribed and signed around the time she stunned audiences with her moving performance in the classic 1945 drama, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, for which she won an Oscar.  Other films include Jane Eyre (1943), Junior Miss (1945), Bomba, the Jungle Boy (1949), The Big Cat (1949), and Black Widow (1954); she also made guest appearances on many top-rated TV series of the network era.  Garner was only fifty-two when she succumbed to illness in 1984.  (Vintage original photograph; true vintage autograph)
