Description:  Exceptionally scarce 1939 portrait signed with her first name early in her career, when she was billed as Betty McLaughlin.  Ryan (1929-1975) is best remembered as the female lead in two Laurel and Hardy comedies, Great Guns (1941) and A-Haunting We Will Go (1942).  Other films include the 1941 Charlie Chan mystery Dead Men Tell, The Gang's All Here (1941), and the 1947 film noir Railroaded.  The beautiful actress succumbed to illness at the early age of fifty-four.  (Vintage original photograph; true vintage autograph)
