Description:  Beautiful doubleweight portrait inscribed, signed, and dated (1928) by the screen legend at approximately age eighteen.  Photograph by the Apeda Studio of New York.  Sidney was then an acclaimed New York-based stage actress, and would soon become one of the top film stars of the thirties.  Career highlights include City Streets (1931), Street Scene (1931), Fritz Lang's Fury (1936), Alfred Hitchcock's Sabotage (1936), Lang's You Only Live Once (1937), Summer Wishes, Winter Dreams (1973), and Beetlejuice (1988).  An extremely scarce item from the beginning of her career.  (Vintage original photograph; true vintage autograph)
