Description: Exceptionally rare inscribed, signed, and dated (either 1932 or 1937) portrait. Granlund (1890-1957), an entertainment pioneer who produced the first movie "trailer," worked in the early film industry, on Broadway, and in early radio. He fostered the careers of many renowned performers and is best remembered for producing the legendary floor show at Hollywood's Florentine Gardens nightclub during World War II. His autobiography, Blondes, Brunettes, and Bullets, an important show business account despite the lurid title, was issued shortly before his tragic death in an auto accident.
